Hardware/Knobs/Finials

Hardware and Knobs don’t have to be so “hard” after all. With the amount of decorative hardware and knobs on the market today, you’ll be sure to find something to fit your décor, fit your budget, and it can be FUN too!

When it comes to Cabinetry of course you want to have selected something that fits your particular room, but its all the little details that can make the difference. You’ll go from hhmmm..”That’s nice” to “Wow…that’s fantastic looking”, and I know more compliments will follow. From knobs and handles, switch plates, faceplates, towel bars & rings, right down to the toilet paper dispenser, every detail is extremely important and can make a huge impact, even for a small item.

Hardware comes in all sorts of materials. They range from Pewter, stainless steel, wrought iron, brass, wood and the “new” glass knob design. You can select custom handles for stainless steel appliances, sub zero refrigerators and freezers too.

Hardware needs to be selected in the following areas of your home. Bathroom hardware includes tap fixtures, bathtub/shower, mirrors, shower rods along with the “extra features” if you so choose. Cabinet hardware includes knobs, pulls, hinges, drawer slides, locks, and appliance handles. Door hardware for interior and exterior includes knobs, levers, deadbolts, entry sets, keyed locks, pocket doors, hinges, storm/screen doors, the door itself, and weatherproofing. Kitchen hardware includes, knobs, pulls, hinges, organizers, pull outs for the pantry, garbage and recycling containers, and pot racks. Plumbing hardware includes faucets, taps, sinks, tubs, showers, and shower glass doors. Laundry room hardware includes organizing systems, ironing boards, laundry hampers and hanging systems for delicates. Exterior Hardware for your home includes the house numbers, mailbox systems, doorbells and buttons, and organizing systems that will customize your garage. These are the most common hardware decisions within your home, it doesn’t mean it is all of them because there will be some that are more unique or specialized. Needless to say there are lots of decisions to be made.

Finials are Fun. At least that is how I feel about them. Finials doesn’t have to mean it is just about window treatments because its not. Finials are also used at the end of a stair railing cap, they also can be at the end of a lamp pull or the top of the lampshade or a ceiling fan pull. No matter where you might need to make a finial selection, I consider this extra touch to be the “cherry” on top of the sundae. If you’ve already gone to the trouble in making a careful decision in regards to draperies, rods, lamps, or staircases, then why not go the extra mile to make sure that your “finishing piece” is absolutely perfect.

Even though it might not seem like fun at the time, this is where you can show your own particular style or flair in these smaller details we call hardware. I know from experience that when the big decisions are out of the way sometimes clients almost shut down. This is the time when you REALLY NEED to give it your very best effort so as not to be disappointed with your final results. Trust me…you’ll be so happy that you did. Have Fun and Good Luck!
