Living Room and Great Room Designs

Most of us have a Living Room or Great Room space within our homes. In homes built within the last decade it has become popular to have an open concept ''living space'' and it is now commonly called the Great Room. A traditional Living Room is separated by a wall and generally away from the kitchen. Today entertaining is created by surrounding the kitchen area with a casual space called the Great Room. There are no walls blocking one room to the other and it allows you to see the person you are speaking too, therefore creating a relaxed conversation area. Today it is beneficial if we can incorporate pieces of furniture that could perhaps have a multi-purpose. For example a sofa bed, an ottoman with storage, or built-in cabinetry that could accommodate a small office feature. All these things can be incorporated into a casual and comfy living room. Fabric selections for this particular living room should be durable, kid friendly, easy to maintain and affordable. Window treatments can be simple and uncomplicated but that doesn't mean they lack in style.
