Wallpaper Today is Fresh and New
Wallpaper Treatments are making a BIG comeback in the world of interior design. Wallpapers today, are eco-friendly, have a fresh flair on some vintage designs and is more user-friendly than it has ever been before.
If your room has walls that you consider a nightmare to paint, because of uneven surfaces, lacks texture and design interest, then really consider using wallpaper to add impact to any room, both big or small.
Wallpaper is not restricted to only certain rooms in your home, because there is a wallpaper that is ideal for whatever room that you pick. For example, a durable, thicker or vinyl wallpaper would be suited best to a child's room, a foyer, or kitchen where the traffic is high. You don't want to put a thinner wallpaper or wallpaper that has additional accents such as metallic foils or sparkles into a space that has to stand up to everyday wear and tear. Delicate papers should be used in a Master Bedroom or Guest Room space.
The price point on wallpapers can be as varying as the wallpapers themselves. If cost is a concern, then look at some of the new vinyl papers out today. Vinyl papers are easier to hang as a do-it-yourself project and are more durable and resilient to everyday life. If you prefer something that is all natural, or has a specialized backing which makes it easier for removal down the road, this is where the dollar signs can really start to add up. If this is the choice that you want to make, then possibly consider having a professional do the installation for you. After spending a tidy sum, you would not want the end result to be less than perfect, or have you waste the product if you cut incorrectly. Always evaluate your budget and options before you look into any wallpaper book.
Keep in mind that wallpaper doesn't always have to go on the wall, nor does it have to be hung only one direction. For example a stripe wallpaper, particularly a thicker stripe, does not have to be hung vertically, but can be hung horizontally as well. This is a great idea in a small space, or where ceiling height is lower. Wallpaper can be hung on one wall as a feature wall, or enjoyed throughout the space. If choosing to do an entire room, make sure your furniture isn't overly fussy, and the room isn't cluttered. Its a bold statement and requires the rest of the room to follow accordingly. Wallpaper borders don't have to just be at the top ceiling of the room, they can be placed above the floor molding, depending on the pattern, or used instead of a chair rail, or used on top and below a chair rail.
From vintage, art-deco-, natural, contemporary or exotic, there is wallpaper for any kind of décor, budget and meets your own personal environmental needs. Wallpaper has come a long way from glue in a bucket with a brush, so explore all the new and exciting options today, it will be an investment in time, that you will be happy that you made.
Keep your mind open to ideas, get creative, or use the internet or library to provide the visual you might need in order to imagine how something might look. Some of us are creative and others are great at copying. Either way if the end result is something that you love and enjoy, then that is all that matters.
So plain walls no more, consider wallpaper because of all the excitement and color it will bring to your space. Whenever possible ask for samples to bring home to look at, or bring an article of fabric from the room you are going to decorate along on your wallpaper shopping spree. Wallpaper shopping should be fun, imaginative and exciting. Don't allow yourself to get dragged down, ask for assistance, and remember, there is always more than one store to shop at. There ''will be'' a wallpaper out there that is perfect for you!
